Over 48 million people visit the Jersey Shore every year. Unfortunately this leaves behind 25,000 pounds of trash on our local beaches, with about 80% of that being plastic. As locals, we want to create a healthier, safer environment for ourselves and our community. We have decided to continue to do a beach clean every year—to remove the litter that is polluting our environment, causing harm to marine life, and contaminating our oceans.
